Inspired in Brooklyn

The scouting trip to the Brooklyn Flea was super fun and very informative! It is a great market and one that we hope to grow up to be like! There was a fantastic mix of vintage housewares, hand made items, clothing, artwork and food vendors. A great place to spend an entire day. I hope our Funky Flea carries a little bit of that Brooklyn Flea vibe.

Update time!

Things are moving along very well in our planning of the Funky Flea! We have 19 vendors that have applied so far and the word is spreading! Please be patient if you have applied and haven't heard from us. We are very busy planning the space, finalizing our permits with the city, designing our posters, setting up the paypal, doing press releases, etc. You will be hearing from us as soon as the paypal is ready to accept payments-very soon! We have received applications from various artists, crafters and thrifters. A great mix so far! We are lining up the entertainment we hope to have play and things are going well. We will send out the first bunch of acceptance emails May 1st.
Please keep following our progress on this blog and the Facebook Event page and let everyone you know about the Funky Flea!!!!!

Some free publicity from the City Eagle!

Flea-spiration

I took a trip to Auburn this week for a little "flea-spiration". There's a big dirty old barn on McMaster Street in Auburn that is chock full of goodies! If you go, expect to get dirty! There are piles of stuff everywhere and the place is pretty filthy! You never know what you're going to find in those piles, so of course you have to dig through them all! Here's a few things I unearthed.

Oh deer!

No doubt about it-deer aren't just out in the woods. They are urban dwellers too. I see them in the road right here in the city. They are everywhere in design these days too. They are so cute! Totally dear!

He got game

Board games. Bored games. Ancient relics of the past you say? Nahhhhhhhhhhhh......they are fun! They bring you back to childhood (if you are over 25 I guess) and they are a great prop for a party theme-either for playing or decorating! Go through your attic (or your Moms) and dig through that old stuff-bring it to the funky flea and make some collector happy! What was YOUR favorite board game?
